Install Steps

■ Common settings
After arriving, insert the physical SIM and perform the following settings.

  1. Airplane mode OFF
  2. Data communication ON
  3. Restart your device

■ iPhone settings
Normally, if you insert the physical SIM with only the common settings, it will automatically pick up the signal and be usable.

■ Android settings
In addition to the above settings, you will need to set up the APN (mobile network). For detailed settings, please refer to the "APN setting method" page.

■ Common settings

 

Make sure that you can access the Internet (WiFi, etc.) on your device. Then, perform the following settings.

  1. Airplane mode OFF
  2. Data communication ON
  3. Restart your device

■ iPhone settings

  1. Connect to the Internet using one of the following methods
    • If you have a notification from T-Mobile: Press the notification to connect to WiFi (this can be on the home screen or in settings)
    • If you have deleted the notification: "Settings" → "Mobile communication" → "Add eSIM"
    • If the QR code option is displayed: "Use QR code" → "Enter details manually" → Enter the SM-DP address: "T-MOBILE.GDSB.NET" → "Next" in the upper right
  2. Select your preferred communication line
  3. Set up data communication
    • If you are in Japan: Turn off "T-Mobile line"
    • If you are in the US: Turn off "Existing line (line normally used in Japan)" and turn on "T-Mobile line".
      * Pleae DO NOT delete the eSIM!

■Android settings
1. Go to "Connections" → Tap "SIM Manager" → Tap "Add eSIM". [If the phone carrier is displayed, select "T-Mobile"]

*The display may differ depending on your device model.
*If the QR code option is displayed, enter the following manually.
SM-DP+Address: T-MOBILE.GDSB.NET

2. Select a US phone number (either option is fine as it can be changed in the settings of 3)

3. Set up data communication

  • If you are in Japan: Turn off "T-Mobile Line"
  • If you are in the US: Turn off "Existing Line (Line normally used in Japan)" and turn on "T-Mobile Line".

*If you cannot connect to the Internet after waiting about 5 minutes, you need to set up the APN (mobile network).

 

  • Manually enter the following information in the new APN setting Name: "T-Mobile"
  • APN: "Fast.t-mobile.com"
  • Tap the save button and select the corresponding APN from the APN list
  • Restart your device.
